▼ Cloning and Expression
Chen et al. (1996) isolated a cDNA encoding RAB30, a small GTP-binding protein of the RAB family, from a human melanocyte cDNA library and from melanoma cells. The deduced 203-amino acid RAB30 protein shares minimal homology with previously documented GTPases. Northern blot analysis detected RAB30 transcripts ranging from 1.7 to 11 kb in most tissues tested.
▼ Mapping
By somatic cell hybrid analysis, Chen et al. (1996) mapped the RAB30 gene to chromosome 11. Scott (2001) localized the RAB30 gene to 11q12-q14 based on sequence similarity between the RAB30 sequence (GenBank U57092) and chromosome 11 clones (GenBank AP000893 and AP000905).
