Using a yeast 2-hybrid system to screen cDNA expression libraries, including an adult brain cDNA library, Lim et al. (2006) showed that C2ORF10 bound N-terminal sequences of ataxin-1 (ATXN1; 601556) containing either 30 or 82 glutamine repeats.
