▼ Description
UCRC is a subunit of mitochondrial complex III (ubiquinol-cytochrome c reductase; EC 1.10.2.2), which forms the middle segment of the respiratory chain of the inner mitochondrial membrane (Schagger et al., 1995).
▼ Cloning and Expression
Schagger et al. (1995) isolated the 7.2-kD subunit of bovine and human mitochondrial complex III, which they called cytochrome C1 (CYC1; 123980)-associated protein.
▼ Mapping
The International Radiation Hybrid Mapping Consortium mapped the UCRC gene to chromosome 22 (STS-AA025006).
